Traffic & Student Safety

Another friendly reminder to everyone about proper morning drop off procedures. If you are dropping your students off before school, please drop them off in the round-about driveway and not on Copper Terrace or in the parking lot. When dropping students off in the round-about driveway, please pull all the way up and drop off at the curb.  It is a safety hazard to stop in the middle of the road or parking lot to let students out and it also inhibits the flow of traffic. If students are walking, please remind them to cross ONLY at the marked cross walks, and not run across the street. We have had some close calls between students and drivers, and our number one priority is keeping kids safe. Thank you for helping us with this important safety matter!

YMCA Bus Update

Starting on Tuesday, January 21st, the YMCA bus will pick students up after school in the round-about loop in front of the building. Students who take the bus to the YMCA for the teen center will need to meet the bus out front no later than 3:15 pm.

School Board Recognition

January is School Board Recognition month. Eric Campbell, Pat Allen, Jessica Adamson, Sue Hekker, and Michael Hiland make up the Sherwood School District’s Board of Directors.  These parents and community members volunteer countless hours each month guiding the direction and policies of our District, helping to ensure it is a great place for all kids.  If you see a Board member this month, please take a moment to thank them for their service.

Immunization Exclusion Day

February 19, 2020 is the exclusion day for those students who are not up to date on their immunizations.  Notification letters have been sent to parents whose student is not current on immunizations.  Please contact Brenna Merchant if you have questions.

Career & Technical Education (CTE) Night at SHS

It’s never too early to start thinking about the future.   Come explore career and college options available in Sherwood High School’s Career & Technical Education program.  Sherwood High School CTE is hosting a Showcase Night on Wednesday, January 29th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm to profile the many outstanding programs available to Sherwood students.  This year’s event will explore career and college options, tour facilities and classrooms, and promise to engage in interactive hands-on activities. Come explore the great things happening at SHS.
