High School Language Credit

High School Spanish Credit


1.0 foreign language credit:

  • Students who successfully earn a ‘B’ or better for every grading period in Spanish 1A (7th grade) and Spanish 1B (8th grade) may earn 1.0 high school language credit.

  • Students must show at least proficiency (8/10) for both text type and accuracy on the speaking final for Spanish 1B in order to earn the 1.0 high school language credit.

  • The average grade earned over the 6 trimesters, 2 year period, will be the grade that is transcripted onto the high school transcript upon earning the high school credit.


0.5 foreign language credit:

  • 8th grade students who successfully earn a ‘B’ or better for every grading period in Spanish 1A may earn 0.5 high school language credit.

  • Students must show at least proficiency (8/10) for both text type and accuracy on the speaking final for Spanish 1A in order to earn the 0.5 high school language credit.

  • The average grade earned over the 3 trimesters, 1 year period, will be the grade that is transcripted onto the high school transcript upon earning the high school credit.

  • Completion of Spanish 1A in the 8th grade does not guarantee access to Spanish 2 in the freshman year.
