Sentence Fluency Assessment

 

 

Directions:

1.     Choose as topic.

2.     Include a variety of sentences: simple, compound, and complex.

3.     Assessment can be no longer than 2 pages double-spaced.

4.     When you are done with your assessment, underline:

a.     Simple sentences in blue

b.     Compound sentences in green

c.      Complex sentences in red

 

 

Advanced – 9

Proficient - 8

Progressing – 7

Emerging – 6

Insufficient Evidence

Student crafts their sentences to enhance the message of their story.

Student consistently uses a variety of sentences to convey the message of their story to the reader.

Student attempts using a variety of sentences, but the reader may need to reread to understand the message of the story.

Student strings words together in phrases and does not convey a clear message.

Student did not attempt a story.
