I was able to go to King's Schools, K-12, in Seattle. I still remember all my old teachers and have since gone back to see some of them. It's fun to see them now and talk with them about the joys and struggles of teaching.
For college I went all the way down to Los Angeles, California and attended Azusa Pacific University. College was hilarious fun with classes in between. I received my B.A. in Liberal Studies with a Science emphasis and my California Teaching Credential (it was an extra year!).
Currently I am going to George Fox University to earn my Masters in Education ... yes, teachers have to go to school.
I was born in spectacular Seattle, Washington. I have a wonderful family and a so happy that I moved back to the North West to be closer to them. My dad, Cliff, mom, Teena, my older sister Christine and my brother-in-law Mark. My parents just moved down to Portland to be near their amazing daughters! I also married my best friend, Kathy, and love laughing every day. We are expecting twins in January 2017!
I substitute taught for one year in Los Angeles then taught at Vina Danks Middle School for 4 years. I taught 8th grade science, Algebra, and ASB (Student Government/Activities). In 2006 I moved to lovely Portland, Oregon where I substitute taught again for a year while also teaching part-time middle school math in the David Douglas School District. I have been teaching in Sherwood since 2007.
Traveling, gardening, triathlons (seriously ... I've done a few) spending time with my family (now that I live closer), the outdoors, and again traveling.
The best of all Baseball!
