Professional Bio

I completed my undergraduate degree at Goshen College in 2008 with a major in history and a minor in international studies.  I then served a year-long volunteer term in Chicago working as a middle school librarian.  It was there that I decided that education was the career path for me.  I earned my MAT degree from Willamette University in 2011 and was immediately hired at Laurel Ridge.  After my first year at LRMS I moved up to Portland Public Schools, but then returned to Laurel Ridge and have been here ever since, making this upcoming school year my eighth total and my seventh at LRMS.  Additionally, I completed my ESOL endorsement ac couple of years ago, am almost through my Reading Specialist endorsement now, and look forward to integrating skills I learned in those two program into my classes this year.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my partner, Allison, as well as our little dog, Zoey.  I love to travel, keep active outside, and play/watch music.  Oregon is a great place in which to do all of those activities!
