|Just a little information about me... |
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in early childhood education. I taught for 2 years at a private school in Cudahy, CA (near LA), and then 4 years in Los Angeles Unified School District in grades 1 and 2.
After moving to Oregon, I was a stay-at-home with my children for 7 years. I am very glad I had that time with them especially since it seems like they have grown up so fast! I have two children, Emma who graduated from Oregon State University this spring, and Jeff who is a junior at University of Oregon. I am an official empty-nester, however, my four-legged children, Murphy and Tyson (very sweet dogs), will keep me company.
I have taught in the Sherwood School District for 18 years - 1 year as a substitute teacher and 7 years at Middleton Elementary where I taught 1st, 4th, 4/5 blend, and 5th grades. This will be my tenth year at middle school level, and I love these wonderfully quirky and funny sixth graders. Outdoor School is my favorite activity to do with the kids.
I enjoy road trips to visit my kids, gardening, quilting, walking my dogs, kayaking, having morning mocha dates with friends, white-water rafting, eating Mexican food and more.
